A panel discussion on a legislative reading in light of the Iraqi Parliament Elections Law No. 19 of 2020

The College of Law at the University of Basra organized a panel discussion on a legislative reading in light of the Iraqi Parliament Elections Law No. 19 of 2020.
The episode, in which researcher Suha Zaki Nouri lectured, aims to clarify a number of legal observations about the Iraqi Parliament Law No. 9 of 2020, the most important of which are:
Article (1) provides definitions and includes a definition paragraph (the open list), as Article (15/second) of this law states that the nomination is individual, and that the law has abandoned the application of the proportional representation system, and applies one of the majority systems that contemplate individual nomination, which stipulates The same article is explicitly imposed on him, and the same applies to the single list, as this procedure was applied in the previous lists to allow the individual candidates to run for membership in the House of Representatives. And until it is given a legal formula and the electoral system and the nomination mechanism are compatible, there is no longer any reason to include the open list definition.
